The Oxidation of Butyric Acid by Means of Hydro- Gen Peroxide with Formation of Acetone, Aldehydes and Other Products

چکیده
Among the numerous investigations made with the object of throwing light upon the mode of oxidation of organic acids in the animal organism few have been more suggestive than those concerned with the origin of the “acetone bodies” from the saturated fatty acids. It will be recalled that the acetonuria resulting fromstarvation, from a carbohydrate-free dietary, or from experimental or human diabetes is associated with an excessive fat catabolism. It is generally conceded that the long carbon chain in the molecule of the higher fatty acids is resolved in such a way as to yield one or more molecules of butyric acid and that the acetone bodies (,&oxybutyric acid, aceto-acetic acid and acetone) result from the further oxidation of this substance:

متن کاملThe Role of Aldehydes as Degenerate Branching Intermediate in the Oxidation of Hydrocarbons
The thermal oxidation of propane in the temperature range 350-425oC was studied in order to elucidate the role of higher aldehydes as degenerate branching intermediates in the oxidation of hydrocarbons. In the slow combustion of propane, the high yield of propylene and methanol as the primary products, the formation of hydrogen peroxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, formaldehyde and steam a...
متن کاملAliphatic alcohols oxidation with Hydrogen Peroxide in water catalyzed by supported Phosphotungstic acid (PTA) on Silica coated MgAl2O4 nanoparticles as a recoverable catalyst
In this paper, a novel catalyst (MgAl2O4@SiO2-PTA) was proposed for the green oxidation of aliphatic alcohols. The resultant composite was characterized by different techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), SEM, FT-IR, EDX and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis. The prepared nanocomposite was used as a catalyst for oxidation of aliphatic alco...
